Travel Nuclear Medicine Technologist Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,420–$2,600
• Location: Rockford, Illinois
• Healthcare Setting: On-site nuclear medicine imaging
• Start Date: November 2, 2026
• Assignment Duration: 13 weeks, through January 30, 2027
• Schedule: Weekday day shifts, typically five 8-hour shifts per week
• Shift Duration: 8-hour days
• Hours: 40 hours per week
• Shift Start Times: Alternating staffing with start times at approximately 6:00 a.m., 6:30 a.m., or 7:00 a.m.
• Weekend and Holiday Schedule: Holidays are not typically scheduled; occasional Saturday coverage may be available

Nuclear Medicine Technologist Job Requirements

• At least 1 year of clinical experience in nuclear medicine
• Current ARRT (N) or CNMT certification through NMTCB
• Current American Heart Association certification required; RQI is not accepted
• Experience with radiopharmaceutical preparation and dosing
• Proficiency with gamma camera operation
• Knowledge of radiation safety practices and regulations
• Competency with IV administration
• PET/CT experience preferred
• Ability to work independently while maintaining accurate, safe, and compassionate patient care

Travel Nuclear Medicine Technologist Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic nuclear medicine imaging procedures in accordance with established protocols
• Prepare, calculate, verify, and administer radiopharmaceuticals safely and accurately
• Operate gamma cameras and related nuclear medicine imaging equipment
• Provide safe and effective IV access and medication administration as appropriate
• Screen and prepare patients, explain procedures, and promote comfort throughout examinations
• Apply radiation protection principles for patients, coworkers, and visitors
• Document procedures, doses, patient responses, and imaging information accurately
• Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, providers, and imaging professionals to support timely patient care
• Maintain equipment, supplies, and work areas in compliance with quality and safety standards
