Physical Therapist Job Requirements

• Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program
• At least 1 year of outpatient clinical experience
• Current CPR certification
• Current physical therapy licensure and compliance with applicable state practice requirements
• Strong clinical reasoning, patient communication, clinical documentation, and care coordination skills

Physical Therapy Responsibilities

• Complete comprehensive evaluations of assigned patients and establish measurable, patient-centered goals.
• Develop, implement, and modify individualized physical therapy treatment plans based on patient needs, functional goals, and physician direction.
• Provide effective rehabilitation treatment programs designed to support safe progress and return to community activities.
• Document evaluations, interventions, progress, functional outcomes, medical necessity, and charges accurately and on time.
• Provide patient care in accordance with valid orders, applicable guidelines, and established clinical policies.
• Educate patients, families, students, and colleagues regarding treatment plans, safety, and functional progress.
• Promote patient and staff safety through safe handling practices, infection prevention, hazard awareness, and adherence to safety procedures.
• Participate in performance improvement activities and contribute ideas that enhance the quality and efficiency of rehabilitation services.
• Maintain professional licensure, pursue continuing education, and uphold applicable ethical and professional standards.
