Cardiology Nurse Practitioner Job Requirements

• At least 1 year of Nurse Practitioner experience; cardiology experience is strongly preferred
• Cardiac electrophysiology experience is preferred
• Current certification and authorization to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in Minnesota
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Strong clinical assessment, patient education, and care coordination skills
• Ability to provide consistent coverage for scheduled outpatient cardiology clinic periods

Cardiology Nurse Practitioner Responsibilities

• Evaluate and manage patients in an outpatient cardiology clinic
• Provide care for patients with cardiac rhythm and electrophysiology-related conditions
• Complete comprehensive patient histories, physical examinations, and clinical assessments
• Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans in collaboration with the cardiology and electrophysiology team
• Review diagnostic findings, monitor patient progress, and adjust care plans as appropriate
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatment options, medications, and follow-up care
• Document patient encounters accurately and efficiently in the electronic medical record
• Coordinate care with cardiologists, physicians, and other members of the multidisciplinary healthcare team
