Locum Tenens Cardiology Job Details

• Location: Greensboro, North Carolina
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $6,950–$7,450
• Start Date: December 14, 2026
• Duration: 69 weeks
• Healthcare Setting: Hospital-based cardiology department
• Schedule: Minimum of 1 week per month and 1 weekend per month, based on scheduling needs; shifts do not need to be consecutive
• Shift: Night and weekend coverage, generally 10-hour overnight shifts; schedules may include Monday through Thursday, 8:00 p.m.–6:00 a.m., with extended Friday through Sunday coverage
• Call Coverage: Second-call coverage
• Patient Population: Adults
• Documentation: Epic electronic medical record (EMR)
• Credentialing: Anticipated timeframe of 60–90 days
• Candidate Eligibility: Local physicians only

Cardiologist Job Requirements

• Board certification in Cardiology
• At least 1 year of cardiology experience; 1–2 years preferred
• Active North Carolina physician license
• Active DEA registration
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications
• Experience using the Epic electronic medical record
• Ability to provide local availability for scheduled nighttime and weekend cardiology coverage

Inpatient Cardiology Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient cardiology consultations upon request
• Deliver evaluation and management services for adult cardiology patients
• Care for patients admitted under the cardiology service
• Interpret echocardiograms and nuclear cardiac studies performed in the hospital
• Maintain an accurate manual log of professional charges
• Coordinate patient care with the cardiology team and other hospital-based clinicians
• Provide nighttime and weekend second-call coverage
• Perform clinical services without procedural responsibilities; temporary pacemaker management is handled by the electrophysiology physician on call
