CT Technologist Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,030–$2,190
• Position: CT Technologist / Computed Tomography Technologist
• Healthcare Setting: Hospital-based CT and diagnostic imaging department
• Location: Carbondale, Illinois
• Travel Contract: 13 weeks
• Start Date: November 2, 2026
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Schedule: Variable schedule; currently Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The schedule may transition to three 12-hour shifts as staffing evolves.
• Shift Format: 12-hour rotating shifts may apply
• On-Call: Rotating call coverage, averaging one week every fourth week
• Technology: Siemens CT scanners, EPIC, and Merge PACS
• Dress Code: Scrubs

CT Technologist Job Requirements

• At least 1 year of CT technologist experience in a hospital or diagnostic imaging setting
• Diagnostic imaging credentials appropriate for CT practice
• Ability to meet all applicable Illinois state and facility credentialing requirements
• Experience with or willingness to work with Siemens CT equipment
• Familiarity with EPIC and PACS workflows preferred
• Availability to participate in the rotating on-call schedule
• Strong communication skills and a commitment to patient safety, radiation safety, and quality imaging

CT Technologist Responsibilities

• Perform CT examinations according to established protocols, physician orders, and quality standards
• Prepare, position, and educate patients before, during, and after computed tomography procedures
• Operate Siemens CT scanners safely and effectively
• Review images for technical quality and obtain additional views when appropriate
• Follow radiation-safety practices and departmental procedures
• Document patient care and imaging information accurately in EPIC and Merge PACS
• Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, and other members of the hospital care team
• Provide dependable coverage for scheduled shifts and assigned on-call responsibilities
