Ultrasound Technologist Job Details

Ultrasound Technologist Job Requirements

• At least 1 year of recent experience as an Ultrasound Technologist, Ultrasound Technician, or Diagnostic Medical Sonographer in a hospital or comparable clinical setting
• Current Ultrasound Technician certification or applicable professional credential
• Ability to complete license or certificate verification before onboarding
• Strong understanding of patient safety, infection prevention, and diagnostic imaging standards
• Excellent communication, organization, and teamwork skills
• Ability to work scheduled day shifts in an on-site hospital environment

Ultrasound Technologist Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations according to established protocols and physician orders
• Prepare patients, explain procedures, and promote comfort and safety throughout each exam
• Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment while recognizing and reporting equipment concerns
• Capture high-quality diagnostic images and verify that studies are complete and technically appropriate
• Document examinations accurately and communicate relevant findings or concerns to the appropriate clinical team
• Collaborate with providers, nurses, and other imaging professionals to support efficient patient care
• Follow hospital policies, regulatory standards, and department procedures
