• Schedule: Weekends, 2 shifts per week
• Shift Duration: 12-hour day shift designation; Saturday 8:00 a.m.–8:00 p.m. and Sunday 9:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m.
• Contract Duration: 13-week locum tenens assignment with potential for extension
• Practice Model: On-site, independent practice with remote physician supervision available
• Patient Volume: Approximately 30–50 patients per day, with increased volume possible during cold and flu season

Family Nurse Practitioner and Physician Assistant Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience in urgent care, emergency medicine, or primary care
• Current North Carolina licensure as a Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
• Current national certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
• Active DEA registration
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Ability to practice independently and make sound clinical decisions in an urgent care setting
• Strong communication, teamwork, documentation, and patient service skills
• DOT certification is a plus

Urgent Care APP Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients presenting with acute illnesses and injuries
• Perform common urgent care procedures, including laceration repair, abscess drainage, splinting, and wound care
• Order, review, and interpret diagnostic tests
• Prescribe appropriate medications and provide clear patient education
• Document patient encounters accurately and efficiently in the electronic medical record
• Manage a broad range of patient needs while serving as the on-site provider
• Collaborate with clinic staff and communicate with the remote supervising physician as needed
• Support efficient clinic operations and a positive patient experience
