Registered Respiratory Therapist Job Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience as a Respiratory Therapist in a hospital setting
• Valid Respiratory Therapist license or professional certification as required by the state and facility

• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts, every other weekend, and one holiday during the assignment
• Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and commitment to patient-centered respiratory care

Respiratory Therapist Responsibilities

• Assess patients, develop and implement appropriate respiratory treatment plans, and document care accurately

• Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and other members of the healthcare team to support safe, effective treatment
• Respond to changes in patient condition and communicate clinical findings promptly
• Maintain respiratory care equipment, follow infection prevention practices, and uphold department and hospital standards
