Emergency Medicine Physician Job Details

• Location: Pearland, Texas, near Houston
• Opportunity Type: Full-time locum tenens emergency medicine assignment
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $6,480-$7,670
• Start Date: December 1, 2026
• Assignment Duration: Approximately 12 weeks, through February 23, 2027
• Schedule: 12-hour emergency department shifts
• Emergency Department Volume: Approximately 25,000 annual visits
• Department Size: 12 emergency department beds
• Coverage Model: Single physician coverage with two advanced practice providers during the day; one physician and one advanced practice provider in-house overnight
• Practice Environment: Level IV Trauma Center with dedicated trauma space, on-site diagnostic imaging and testing, an accredited Chest Pain Center, and a certified Primary Stroke Center

Emergency Medicine Physician Job Requirements

• At least 1 year of emergency medicine physician experience
• Board eligible or board certified in Emergency Medicine
• ABEM or ABEOM certification or eligibility
• Active, unrestricted medical license appropriate for practice in Texas
• Ability to provide safe, efficient, and compassionate care in a high-volume emergency department

Emergency Medicine Physician Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients presenting with a broad range of emergent and urgent conditions
• Provide timely stabilization and disposition planning for medical, surgical, cardiac, neurologic, and traumatic emergencies
• Deliver comprehensive cardiac emergency care, including evaluation and management of suspected myocardial infarction and other acute cardiac conditions
• Assess and manage patients with suspected ischemic or hemorrhagic stroke in collaboration with the emergency care team
• Participate in the evaluation and treatment of trauma patients in a Level IV Trauma Center environment
• Collaborate effectively with advanced practice providers, nursing staff, consultants, EMS teams, and diagnostic services
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and support high standards of quality, safety, and patient experience
