Medical Laboratory Job Details

• Position: Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) / Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT)
• Specialty: Clinical laboratory
• Assignment Type: 13-week travel contract

• Start Date: November 1, 2026
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Schedule: Monday through Friday, five shifts per week
• Shift: 8-hour evening shifts, 3:00 p.m. – 11:30 p.m.
• Hours: Approximately 40 hours per week
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,920–$2,060
• Weekend Requirement: Weekend rotation required
• Holiday Requirement: Holiday coverage based on department needs
• Floating: May be required to support other laboratory areas
• On-Call: Not required

MLS and MLT Job Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience as a Medical Laboratory Scientist, Clinical Laboratory Scientist, or Medical Laboratory Technician
• Active MLS or MLT certification through ASCP
• Strong hands-on experience in hematology and chemistry required
• Proficiency with laboratory instrumentation, analyzers, and automation systems preferred
• Experience with Beckman automation, AU 5800, AU 680, DxH 900, DxH 800, DxI 800, Cobas e801, TOP 720, ABL 825 FLEX, Iris Velocity, or Iris iQ200 preferred
• Experience with Beaker and AMS laboratory software preferred
• Ability to work evening shifts, participate in weekend and holiday rotations, and float between laboratory areas as needed

Medical Laboratory Scientist Responsibilities

• Perform accurate clinical laboratory testing in hematology and chemistry according to established procedures
• Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot laboratory analyzers and automation systems
• Review test results, identify irregularities, and follow established quality-control procedures
• Maintain accurate laboratory documentation and comply with safety, regulatory, and quality standards
• Collaborate with laboratory colleagues and other members of the healthcare team to support timely diagnostic results and quality patient care
• Provide coverage across laboratory areas as assigned, including weekend and holiday rotations
