MRI Technologist Job Details

• Location: Decatur, Illinois
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,080–$2,230
• Assignment Type: Travel healthcare assignment
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Start Date: November 9, 2026
• End Date: February 9, 2027
• Department: Hospital MRI and diagnostic imaging
• Schedule: 12-hour evening shift assignment; approximately 36 hours per week; Tuesday through Friday with every other Saturday rotation
• Shift Details: Approximately 11:30 a.m.–8:00 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m. every other Saturday; confirm final scheduling details during onboarding
• Call Requirement: No on-call requirement
• Additional Scheduling: Holiday rotation may be required

MRI Technologist Job Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as an MRI Technologist
• ARRT certification in MRI
• Current Illinois license or authorization to practice as required for the assignment
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Recent experience operating Siemens MRI scanners
• Experience documenting examinations and patient information in EPIC
• Strong knowledge of MRI safety procedures, screening protocols, and patient positioning
• Ability to work the assigned evening schedule, every other Saturday, and holiday rotation
• Applicants residing within a 60-mile radius may be subject to applicable local-assignment eligibility guidelines

MRI Technologist Responsibilities

• Perform routine and advanced MRI examinations according to established imaging protocols
• Operate Siemens MRI equipment safely and efficiently
• Complete thorough MRI safety screening and verify patient history, implants, and other contraindications
• Prepare, position, and monitor patients throughout examinations while providing clear explanations and compassionate, patient-centered care
• Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, technologists, and other members of the hospital care team
• Document examinations and patient information accurately in EPIC
• Maintain diagnostic image quality and follow MRI safety, magnetic-field safety, department, and compliance procedures
• Assist with department workflow, equipment readiness, and adherence to applicable imaging policies and standards
