Operating Room Nurse Job Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Ohio
• At least 1 year of recent operating room nursing experience
• Demonstrated knowledge of perioperative nursing practices and surgical safety standards
• Ability to work three 12-hour day shifts and participate in scheduled operating room call coverage
• Strong communication, organization, clinical judgment, and teamwork skills
• Ability to complete required credentialing, competency validation, and travel assignment compliance requirements

Operating Room Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, compassionate, and evidence-based nursing care throughout the surgical experience
• Support preoperative preparation, intraoperative care, and timely transitions of care
• Maintain a sterile, organized, and patient-focused operating room environment
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia professionals, surgical technologists, and other members of the perioperative team
• Verify patient information, procedure readiness, supplies, equipment, and surgical safety requirements
• Monitor patient needs, respond to changes in condition, and communicate effectively with the care team
• Accurately document nursing assessments, interventions, and patient outcomes
• Adapt to operational needs, including potential reassignment within the care environment when appropriate
