OB/GYN Physician – Locum Tenens Labor and Delivery Opportunity in Elkins, West Virginia

Locum Tenens OB/GYN Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $70,000–$75,000
• Location: Elkins, West Virginia
• Healthcare Setting: Hospital Labor and Delivery unit
• Start Date: December 7, 2026
• End Date: June 7, 2027
• Contract Duration: Approximately 26 weeks
• Schedule: Approximately one week of coverage per month
• Shift Duration: 24-hour call shifts, 7:00 a.m.–7:00 a.m.; system-listed shift designation is 8-hour days
• Call Expectations: 24-hour call only; no clinic hours. Remain within 10 minutes of the hospital for critical cases.
• Average Volume: Approximately one birth per day
• Clinical Support: Onsite Labor and Delivery nursing staff, pediatric providers, and anesthesia professionals
• Electronic Medical Record: Paragon

OB/GYN Physician Job Requirements

• Five or more years of clinical Obstetrics and Gynecology experience preferred
• Board Certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology required
• West Virginia licensure support is available for providers with an Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC) qualification
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Active DEA registration required
• Current credentials and documentation sufficient for the applicable credentialing and privileging process

Labor and Delivery Physician Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive OB/GYN care during 24-hour Labor and Delivery call coverage
• Manage laboring patients, deliveries, urgent evaluations, and obstetric emergencies
• Perform the full range of appropriate obstetric and gynecologic procedures
• Respond promptly to critical cases while remaining within the required response area
• Collaborate with Labor and Delivery nurses, pediatric providers, anesthesia professionals, and other members of the healthcare team
• Evaluate and treat patients of childbearing age in accordance with current clinical standards
• Document patient care accurately in the Paragon electronic medical record
