Occupational Therapist Job Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience as an Occupational Therapist, preferably in a hospital or rehabilitation setting
• Current Michigan Occupational Therapist license
• Current BLS certification
• Experience with Epic electronic medical records required
• Ability to complete required competency, credentialing, and compliance requirements
• Strong communication, clinical reasoning, patient education, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills

Occupational Therapy Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients and develop individualized occupational therapy plans of care
• Provide skilled therapeutic interventions to improve functional mobility, independence, and quality of life
• Document evaluations, treatment progress, and discharge recommendations accurately in Epic
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, rehabilitation professionals, patients, and caregivers to coordinate patient care
• Educate patients and caregivers on therapeutic techniques, safety strategies, and home exercise programs
• Monitor patient response to treatment and modify interventions as clinically appropriate
• Participate in care planning and support a high standard of patient-centered hospital rehabilitation
