Physical Therapist Assistant Job Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant in an outpatient physical therapy or clinic setting
• Current Physical Therapist Assistant credential and eligibility to practice in Wisconsin
• Active Wisconsin PTA license required; compact-license holders must be willing to obtain permanent Wisconsin licensure promptly
• Completion of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
• Ability to work a consistent schedule of five 8-hour day shifts per week
• Strong communication, clinical documentation, organization, and patient-care skills

Physical Therapist Assistant Responsibilities

• Provide skilled outpatient rehabilitation treatment under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist
• Implement individualized physical therapy treatment plans focused on strength, mobility, balance, flexibility, and functional independence
• Guide patients through therapeutic exercises, activities, and appropriate rehabilitation techniques
• Monitor patient progress, tolerance, and response to treatment and communicate observations to the supervising Physical Therapist
• Document treatments, patient responses, and progress accurately and promptly in accordance with clinical and regulatory standards
• Educate patients and caregivers on exercises, mobility strategies, and home exercise program carryover
• Maintain a safe, organized, and supportive outpatient clinical environment
