Job description
Job Description
Join a respiratory therapy team in Petersburg, West Virginia, for a 13-week contract supporting inpatient, outpatient, and emergency department services. This assignment is a strong fit for an RRT, with CRTs also considered, who is comfortable working independently on 12-hour night shifts. You will manage ventilators, perform ABG draws, support CPAP/BiPAP and high-flow oxygen therapy, administer nebulizers and MDIs, and provide airway-clearance treatments. Outpatient responsibilities include setting up nocturnal pulse oximetry and obtaining blood gases. The emergency department may include adult, pediatric, and neonatal cases, while inpatient assignments are primarily adult-focused. Intubation assistance is required; independent intubation is not currently expected. A little respiratory know-how goes a long way on this solo night assignment.
BLS, ACLS, and PCOT certifications are required, along with at least two years of respiratory therapy experience and ventilatory skills. First-time travelers are welcome. Pediatric experience is helpful but not required. The night shift typically has one respiratory therapist covering inpatient services, with an on-call manager available overnight and on weekends. Department orientation lasts approximately two to three days.

Expect crisp, cool conditions with comfortable daytime temperatures, chilly mornings and evenings, and the possibility of changing weather. Pack layers and a light rain jacket so you can enjoy both outdoor adventures and relaxed days in town.
