Job description
Job Description
Take your next travel assignment to Wausau as a registered nurse supporting a short-stay observation unit on 12-hour nights. You will care for patients with conditions such as anemia, cellulitis, COPD, dehydration, and pre- and post-operative urology and GI needs, while managing cardiac, nitroglycerin, insulin, and heparin drips. The role includes frequent admissions and discharges, an average stay of up to 48 hours, and floating to inpatient units such as intermediate care and critical care as needed—so flexibility is essential.
This assignment is a strong fit for an experienced observation, medical-surgical, or telemetry RN who can independently interpret cardiac rhythms and adapt quickly throughout the night. A Wisconsin RN license, BLS, ACLS, EPIC experience, and at least three years of experience are required. NIHSS is highly preferred, and an EKG exam is required during compliance.
Weather
Wausau typically offers crisp, cool weather during this time of year, with colorful foliage, comfortable daytime conditions, cooler evenings, and occasional rain. Layers and a light jacket are useful for enjoying time outdoors.
