Job description
Job Description
Take your acute care nursing experience to Tacoma as a travel RN supporting a broad Med/Surg and Telemetry division. You will care for patients across multiple specialties, including medical, surgical, cardiac, neurological, orthopedic, spine, oncology, and short-stay assignments. This role includes floating across Med/Surg and Telemetry areas throughout the regional network, with an opportunity to work with patients requiring CPAP, BiPAP, tracheostomy care, and telemetry monitoring.
RNs typically manage four to five patients and may titrate select medications such as insulin, heparin, nitroglycerin, dobutamine, dopamine, and Cardizem within established guidelines. The schedule is built around 12-hour day shifts, every-other-weekend coverage, winter holiday coverage, and up to four standby assignments during the contract. A little flexibility goes a long way in this assignment—travelers may float between units and support other standard team needs when required.
Applicants must have at least two years of acute care experience and current BLS certification.
Weather
Tacoma typically offers cool, comfortable weather with a mix of cloudy skies, occasional rain, and mild temperatures. Pack layers and a dependable rain jacket so you can enjoy the area between shifts.
