Job description

Job Description

Take your orthopedic nursing experience to Salem, Oregon, for a 15-week contract on a specialized orthopedic unit. As an Orthopedic Registered Nurse, you will care for patients recovering from joint replacements, fractures, traumatic injuries, and other surgical or non-surgical musculoskeletal conditions. This assignment is a good fit for an RN with recent medical-surgical or telemetry experience, including dysrhythmia interpretation and management. Orthopedic-specific experience is welcome but not required, and unit education will be provided. You will work 12-hour night shifts, support patients through recovery, and float within your scope when needed. Pack your night-shift essentials—Salem is ready to welcome you.

Weather

Salem typically offers cool, comfortable weather with crisp mornings, mild afternoons, and occasional refreshing rain. The surrounding Willamette Valley is especially scenic during this season, so bring layers and a reliable jacket for exploring between shifts.

  • Riverfront Exploration: Walk along the Willamette River, visit Riverfront Park, and ride the vintage carousel.

  • Historic Salem: Tour the Oregon State Capitol and explore downtown shops, cafés, and local museums.

  • Day Trip—Silver Falls State Park: Hike the famous Trail of Ten Falls and enjoy the forested scenery about an hour from Salem.

  • Day Trip—Oregon Coast: Head west for coastal viewpoints, beach walks, and small seaside communities.

  • Day Trip—Portland: Spend a day exploring gardens, restaurants, bookstores, and neighborhoods in Oregon’s largest city.
