Travel Sterile Processing Technician Job Details

• Location: Greenbrae, California
• Healthcare Setting: Hospital sterile processing department
• Start Date: November 1, 2026
• Assignment Duration: 11-week travel assignment, through January 17, 2027
• Schedule: 5 shifts per week
• Shift: 8-hour evening shifts
• Hours: 40 hours per week

Sterile Processing Technician Job Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience as a Sterile Processing Technician, Central Sterile Technician, or in a comparable hospital setting
• Current Sterile Processing Technician certification
• Knowledge of surgical instrument decontamination, preparation, sterilization, and distribution procedures
• Understanding of infection prevention practices and applicable hospital safety standards
• Ability to work independently, maintain accuracy, and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced sterile processing environment
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety

Sterile Processing Technician Responsibilities

• Decontaminate, inspect, assemble, package, sterilize, and distribute surgical instruments and medical equipment
• Operate sterilization equipment and other central sterile processing equipment according to established procedures
• Verify instrument sets and supplies for completeness, functionality, and proper packaging
• Maintain accurate sterilization records, instrument tracking documentation, and quality control logs
• Respond to department and procedural area needs while maintaining timely instrument availability
• Follow infection prevention, safety, and regulatory standards throughout all sterile processing activities
• Communicate effectively with perioperative and clinical staff regarding equipment and surgical instrument needs
