Certified Nursing Assistant Job Requirements

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification
• Current BLS certification
• Minimum of 2 years of bedside clinical experience in a hospital or healthcare setting
• Ability to provide safe, respectful, and compassionate patient care
• Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills
• Commitment to patient confidentiality, HIPAA standards, and facility policies

CNA Responsibilities

• Perform routine patient care and bedside nursing tasks under the direction of a Registered Nurse
• Assist patients with activities of daily living and other care needs while promoting dignity, comfort, and safety
• Document patient care accurately and communicate patient needs or concerns to the nursing and healthcare team
• Follow safe patient-handling practices and identify and report potential hazards
• Support meal and nourishment services in accordance with prescribed diets, allergies, and patient preferences
• Prepare, deliver, and retrieve menus and verify that selections and labels reflect current diet orders
• Assist patients with menu selections and communicate food service concerns appropriately
• Maintain compliance with infection prevention, HIPAA, and quality and safety standards
• Complete related clerical tasks, including answering phones, filing, faxing, and maintaining supplies
• Participate in in-services, team meetings, and other duties that support efficient patient care
