Med/Surg LPN Job Requirements

• Current and valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license eligible for practice in South Dakota
• At least 1 year of practical nursing experience, preferably in a medical-surgical or inpatient healthcare setting
• Strong knowledge of basic nursing practices, patient safety, and infection prevention
• Ability to provide safe, compassionate patient care during overnight shifts
• Effective communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to complete required facility onboarding and compliance requirements

Med/Surg LPN Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to adult medical-surgical patients during 12-hour night shifts
• Monitor patient conditions, obtain vital signs, and promptly report changes to the supervising nurse or provider
• Administer medications and treatments within the scope of the LPN role and applicable regulations
• Assist with activities of daily living, mobility, comfort measures, and personal care
• Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation in accordance with unit standards
• Collaborate with registered nurses, providers, nursing assistants, and other members of the care team
• Promote patient safety, dignity, infection prevention, and continuity of care
