Travel MRI Technologist Job Details

• Position: MRI Technologist (MRI Tech)
• Healthcare Setting: Hospital Radiology/MRI department
• Location: Norfolk, Virginia
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,030–$2,190
• Start Date: November 16, 2026
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks, ending February 16, 2027
• Shift: Night shift, approximately 7:30 p.m.–6:00 a.m.
• Shifts per Week: 4
• Shift Duration: 12-hour nights
• Schedule: On-site; exact schedule and call expectations to be confirmed

MRI Technologist Job Requirements

• Registered MRI Technologist credential
• Current MRI certification
• At least 1 year of professional MRI experience
• Eligibility to practice in Virginia
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced hospital environment
• Strong patient-care, communication, and MRI safety skills

MRI Technologist Responsibilities

• Perform MRI examinations safely and accurately according to established imaging protocols.
• Provide MRI services for emergency department, operating room, inpatient, and outpatient populations.
• Prepare patients for examinations, explain procedures, and promote a calm, respectful patient experience.
• Complete MRI safety screening and follow appropriate safety procedures throughout each examination.
• Evaluate image quality and obtain additional views or sequences when clinically appropriate.
• Coordinate with radiologists, nurses, providers, and other members of the healthcare team.
• Document examinations and maintain accurate patient and imaging records.
• Follow department standards for equipment operation, infection prevention, and quality assurance.
