Endoscopy Technician Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,580–$1,700
• Healthcare Setting: Hospital Endoscopy/GI Lab
• Location: Harrison Township, New Jersey
• Start Date: November 9, 2026
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM; approximately 40 hours per week
• On-Call Schedule: 5:00 PM–7:00 AM; one-week on-call blocks approximately once every four weeks
• Work Arrangement: On-site

Endoscopy Technician Job Requirements

• At least 1 year of recent, hands-on Endoscopy Technician or GI Technician experience
• Recent experience supporting intra-procedure Colonoscopy and EGD procedures
• Demonstrated ability to clean, leak test, high-level disinfect, document, and reprocess flexible endoscopes
• Knowledge of endoscope handling, infection prevention, and healthcare regulatory standards
• Ability to participate in the on-call rotation
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Certified Endoscope Reprocessor (CER) or GI Technical Specialist (GTS) certification preferred
• Recent experience in an Endoscopy/GI Lab or comparable flexible endoscope reprocessing environment within the past 12 months

Endoscopy Technician Responsibilities

• Assist the clinical team during gastrointestinal procedures, including Colonoscopy and EGD
• Prepare procedure rooms, endoscopy equipment, and supplies for scheduled cases
• Perform bedside cleaning, leak testing, high-level disinfection, and reprocessing of flexible endoscopes
• Transport, handle, store, and prepare endoscopes for safe reuse according to established protocols
• Complete accurate documentation and tracking throughout the endoscope reprocessing workflow
• Follow infection prevention, patient safety, and regulatory requirements at every stage of the process
• Support room turnover and maintain an organized, procedure-ready Endoscopy/GI Lab
• Provide on-call coverage as scheduled and respond appropriately to urgent procedural needs
