Travel Operating Room Job Details

• Assignment Type: 13-week travel assignment
• Location: Mason City, Iowa
• Department: Operating Room
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,440–$1,550
• Start Date: October 19, 2026
• End Date: January 17, 2027
• Hours: 36 hours per week
• Shift: 12-hour day shifts, typically 7:00 a.m.–7:30 p.m.
• Call Requirement: On call every fourth weekend
• Holiday Call: Christmas call from 7:00 a.m. on December 25, 2026, through 7:00 a.m. on December 26, 2026

Surgical Technologist Job Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience as an Operating Room Technician, OR Technician, or Surgical Technologist
• Current Surgical Technologist certification or applicable professional credential
• Ability to provide license and certification verification
• Strong knowledge of sterile technique, surgical instrumentation, and operating room procedures
• Ability to work 12-hour day shifts and participate in the required weekend and holiday call rotation
• Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills

Operating Room Technician Responsibilities

• Prepare operating rooms, surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies for procedures
• Maintain a sterile field and follow infection prevention and surgical safety standards
• Pass instruments and supplies to the surgical team during procedures
• Assist with surgical counts, specimen handling, room turnover, and post-procedure cleanup
• Anticipate the needs of surgeons and other members of the perioperative team
• Verify equipment readiness and report supply or equipment concerns promptly
• Provide dependable operating room support during scheduled shifts, weekend call, and holiday call assignments
