MRI Technologist Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,340–$2,510
• Location: Boston, Massachusetts
• Healthcare Setting: Hospital-based MRI department
• Assignment Type: Travel contract
• Start Date: November 8, 2026
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks, ending February 6, 2027
• Schedule: 3 overnight shifts per week; Sunday, Monday, and Friday
• Shift Duration: 12-hour nights, 7:00 PM–7:30 AM
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week

MRI Technologist Job Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience as an MRI Technologist or MRI Tech in a hospital, clinic, or outpatient imaging setting
• Current MRI Technologist certification or equivalent professional credential
• Ability to complete required license and certificate verification
• Strong knowledge of MRI safety standards, patient screening procedures, and imaging protocols
• Excellent patient-care, communication, and teamwork skills
• Ability to work independently and maintain imaging accuracy during overnight shifts
• Ability to meet required health, background, and travel assignment compliance standards

MRI Technologist Responsibilities

• Perform MRI examinations according to established imaging protocols and provider orders
• Screen patients for MRI safety, contraindications, and relevant medical history before examinations
• Prepare, position, and monitor patients throughout MRI procedures
• Operate and maintain MRI equipment in accordance with department policies and safety guidelines
• Obtain high-quality diagnostic images while minimizing patient discomfort and motion artifact
• Communicate effectively with patients, radiologists, nurses, and other members of the healthcare team
• Document imaging procedures accurately and follow applicable quality-control and infection-prevention practices
• Respond appropriately to patient concerns and support a safe, respectful diagnostic imaging experience
