Travel Nursing Job Details

• Position: Travel Med/Surg Tele Registered Nurse (RN)
• Location: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,930–$2,030
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: November 9, 2026
• End Date: February 7, 2027
• Schedule: 3 shifts per week; 36 hours per week
• Shift: 12-hour day shifts, approximately 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
• Patient Population: Adult and geriatric medical-surgical patients, including post-operative patients
• Call: None indicated
• Interview Process: Virtual interview

Medical-Surgical Telemetry RN Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• At least 1 year of recent medical-surgical nursing experience
• Experience caring for adult and geriatric patients in an acute-care setting
• Telemetry monitoring and cardiac assessment experience
• Experience providing post-operative patient care preferred
• Competency with medication administration, IV therapies, blood products, central lines, feeding tubes, drains, and respiratory care
• Strong patient assessment, organization, communication, and critical-thinking skills
• Ability to document accurately in an electronic medical record; Epic experience preferred

Travel RN Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care for medical-surgical and telemetry patients.
• Monitor cardiac rhythms, perform cardiac assessments, and obtain 12-lead EKGs as indicated.
• Care for patients with a broad range of medical conditions and post-operative needs.
• Administer medications, blood products, insulin, heparin, and other prescribed therapies safely.
• Manage IV lines, PICC and central lines, triple-lumen catheters, chest tubes, drains, feeding tubes, and PCA pumps.
• Provide breathing treatments and tracheostomy care as appropriate.
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, case management, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team.
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, medications, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
• Maintain timely, accurate documentation and support patient safety and quality initiatives.
• Float to other medical-surgical units when needed and appropriate.
