Med/Surg Telemetry Nurse Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio or an active compact-state license in hand at the time of submission
• At least 1 year of recent permanent Med/Surg Telemetry nursing experience
• Active Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications
• Recent professional reference from a manager, assistant nurse manager, supervisor, or director within the specialty
• Required nursing credentials and certifications must be active and available at the time of submission
• Successful completion of required background, employment, health, and compliance screening
• Ability to complete telemetry rhythm recognition and medication safety assessments during orientation
• Willingness to complete required pre-start and annual learning modules

Med/Surg Telemetry Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to adult medical-surgical and telemetry patients during overnight shifts
• Assess patient conditions, recognize changes in cardiac rhythms and clinical status, and promptly escalate concerns
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with orders, nursing standards, and patient safety practices
• Monitor telemetry, vital signs, laboratory results, and other relevant clinical data
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, providers, and interdisciplinary healthcare team members
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the electronic health record
• Promote patient education, comfort, safety, and continuity of care throughout the admission
