Travel Nursing Job Details

• Position: Travel Registered Nurse – CVOR/CVICU
• Location: Fort Wayne, Indiana
• Start Date: November 16, 2026
• Assignment Duration: 13 weeks, ending February 15, 2027
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,000–$2,100
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Shift Duration: 12-hour shifts
• Shift: Evenings, 3:00 p.m.–3:00 a.m.
• Unit: Mixed-acuity cardiovascular intensive care and progressive-care environment
• Patient Ratios: 1:1 or 1:2 on the ICU side; 1:3 or 1:4 on the step-down side
• Charting System: EPIC
• Orientation: Mandatory three-day orientation during the first week
• Dress Code: Caribbean-blue scrubs

CVICU Travel RN Job Requirements

• At least 2 years of recent cardiovascular intensive care nursing experience
• Open-heart recovery experience preferred
• Current Indiana or compact Registered Nurse license
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association
• Ability to float to like units and progressive-care or step-down areas as needed
• Level I or Level II facility experience preferred
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred

Cardiovascular ICU Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to high-acuity cardiovascular and post-operative cardiac patients.
• Care for patients recovering directly from the operating room and support their transition through the cardiovascular care pathway.
• Monitor complex patients, identify changes in condition, and promptly communicate clinical concerns.
• Administer medications and treatments, perform assessments, and document care accurately in EPIC.
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, therapists, and the interdisciplinary care team.
• Safely manage patient assignments in accordance with ICU and progressive-care acuity levels.
• Float to comparable units or step-down areas when needed while maintaining high standards of patient safety and care.
