Labor & Delivery RN Job Requirements

• At least 1 year of recent full-time equivalent nursing experience, completed within the last 3 years
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program
• Current Registered Nurse license valid in California
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience is strongly preferred
• High-risk Labor & Delivery or high-risk obstetric nursing experience is preferred
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or related degree is preferred

Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide safe, comprehensive nursing care to patients throughout labor, delivery, and the postpartum period
• Monitor maternal and fetal status and promptly identify changes requiring intervention
• Support patients and families through labor, delivery, and high-risk obstetric situations
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with orders, policies, and professional standards
• Collaborate with obstetric providers, neonatal teams, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team
• Assist with emergency responses and neonatal stabilization as appropriate to the clinical setting
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, patient responses, and outcomes
• Promote patient education, comfort, dignity, and evidence-based care throughout the birth experience
