Sterile Processing Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,130–$1,210
• Location: Boston, Massachusetts
• Assignment Type: 13-week travel contract
• Start Date: November 22, 2026, pending credentialing clearance
• End Date: February 20, 2027
• Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week; Monday through Friday with rotating weekends
• Shift: 8-hour nights, 11:00 PM–7:30 AM
• Patient Care: No direct patient care required

Sterile Processing Technician Requirements

• At least 1 year of related sterile processing experience required; 2–4 years preferred
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Current Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) certification required
• Knowledge of case cart assembly and surgical instrument processing
• Familiarity with regulatory standards related to sterile processing, infection control, and materials management
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to reset instrument sets accurately
• Ability to work overnight shifts and rotating weekends

Central Sterile Processing Responsibilities

• Decontaminate medical instruments and equipment according to established procedures, infection control standards, and applicable regulatory requirements
• Process specialty and general surgical instruments through the sterile processing department
• Prepare, assemble, and inspect surgical trays and equipment using established tray listings
• Reset instrument sets accurately and consistently without error
• Prepare instruments and equipment for sterilization, issue, storage, or additional processing
• Maintain appropriate stock levels within the central sterile department
• Perform tests and inspections to evaluate product and sterile processing quality
• Identify and communicate instrument repair needs to the appropriate supervisor
