Emergency Room RN Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Pennsylvania
• At least 1 year of professional nursing experience, preferably in an emergency department, emergency room, or acute-care setting
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
• Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and the ability to remain composed in high-acuity situations
• Ability to work three 12-hour overnight shifts each week

Emergency Department RN Responsibilities

• Assess, triage, and provide timely nursing care to patients with a broad range of emergent and urgent conditions
• Monitor patient status, identify changes in condition, and promptly escalate concerns to the appropriate medical team
• Administer medications and treatments, initiate interventions, and assist with emergency procedures according to established protocols
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, technicians, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team
• Provide clear patient and family education, emotional support, and discharge instructions
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, responses to treatment, and care transitions
• Maintain a safe, organized, and patient-focused environment during high-volume night shifts
