Travel Nursing Job Details

• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,180–$2,290
• Shift: 12-hour nights, 7:00 PM–7:30 AM
• Guaranteed Hours: 48 hours per week, typically four 12-hour shifts
• Weekend and Holiday Schedule: Every other weekend and every other holiday
• Floating: Float to inpatient units as needed
• Scheduling Notes: Low-census adjustments may occur in four- or eight-hour increments according to unit needs. There is no traditional on-call requirement.

Medical-Surgical RN Job Requirements

• At least 2 years of recent Medical-Surgical RN experience
• Active Wisconsin Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Associate degree or nursing certificate required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Recent Epic electronic health record (EHR) charting experience required
• Level II trauma experience highly preferred
• Strong organization, resilience, adaptability, and independent decision-making skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively with nurses, providers, ancillary staff, patients, and families

Medical-Surgical RN Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult medical-surgical patients in an inpatient hospital setting
• Assess, monitor, and manage patients with respiratory illnesses, neurological conditions, gastrointestinal disorders, diabetes, renal and urinary conditions, sepsis, wound-care needs, clotting disorders, infectious diseases, and acute alcohol withdrawal
• Prioritize care and respond effectively to changing patient conditions in a fast-paced inpatient environment
• Complete accurate assessments, medication administration, care planning, documentation, and patient education using Epic
• Maintain safe patient ratios, typically 1:4–5 on days and 1:6–7 on nights
• Float to other inpatient units as needed while maintaining high standards of patient care
• Communicate clearly with the interdisciplinary team and contribute to a positive patient experience
