Travel Paramedic Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,320–$1,420
• Assignment Type: 13-week travel EMS assignment
• Start Date: December 7, 2026
• Location: Iron River, Michigan, with coverage that may include nearby Crystal Falls and other northern Michigan locations based on staffing needs
• Guaranteed Hours: 48 hours per week; overtime after 48 hours worked
• Shift Duration: 12-hour night shifts
• Shift Pattern: Two 24-hour shifts; listed overnight coverage is 6:30 PM–7:00 AM
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement: As needed and available
• On-Call: No routine on-call requirement; low-census on-call assignments may occur under applicable assignment guidelines
• Orientation: 8 hours
• Charting: Zoll EMS Charts; training will be provided

Paramedic Qualifications & Certifications

• At least 1 year of Paramedic experience required; 3 years preferred
• Successful completion of an accredited Paramedic education program and an associate degree or Paramedic certificate
• Current Michigan Paramedic Certification; candidates with NREMT-P may be eligible for Michigan reciprocity
• Wisconsin Paramedic Certification
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Active driver’s license in good standing
• Wisconsin Critical Care Paramedic endorsement preferred
• Ability to meet applicable travel-assignment residency requirements, including residing more than 50 miles from the assignment location
• Ability to perform effectively under stress, exercise sound independent judgment, and recognize and treat life-threatening conditions

Medevac & Interfacility Transport Paramedic Responsibilities

• Provide basic and advanced life support assessment, treatment, stabilization, and ongoing care for ill or injured patients during medevac and interfacility transports
• Identify, intervene, and stabilize patients in accordance with established protocols and scope of practice
• Conduct patient interviews, obtain vital signs, perform ongoing assessments, and communicate changes in patient condition
• Initiate and implement appropriate clinical interventions in collaboration with physicians, registered nurses, and other members of the care team
• Monitor, record, and document patient care accurately in the Zoll EMS Charts platform
• Assist with examinations, treatments, and diagnostic tests as directed by authorized providers
• Maintain readiness of treatment and transport areas and support safe, efficient patient movement
• Work collaboratively within varied crew configurations, including EMT/Paramedic, Paramedic/Paramedic, RN/EMT, and RN/Paramedic teams
• Adapt to occasional coverage needs at other northern Michigan locations while maintaining high standards of patient care
