Physical Therapist Job Details

Physical Therapist Qualifications

• Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program
• At least 1 year of outpatient physical therapy clinical experience
• Current physical therapist license in accordance with Indiana state requirements
• Current CPR certification
• Strong clinical reasoning, communication, documentation, and time-management skills
• Commitment to patient-centered care, professional ethics, safety, and confidentiality

Outpatient Physical Therapy Responsibilities

• Complete comprehensive evaluations of assigned patients and develop individualized treatment plans with measurable goals.
• Provide evidence-informed physical therapy interventions designed to improve function and support progress toward discharge.
• Modify treatment plans as needed based on patient progress, clinical findings, goals, and physician direction.
• Document evaluations, treatment sessions, goals, functional outcomes, medical necessity, and charges accurately and promptly.
• Deliver care under valid orders and in accordance with applicable clinical, regulatory, and organizational standards.
• Educate patients and families about treatment plans, home exercise programs, safety, and strategies for returning to daily activities.
• Promote safe patient handling, infection prevention, fall prevention, and a safe treatment environment.
• Collaborate with members of the interdisciplinary care team to support coordinated, high-quality outpatient rehabilitation services.
• Participate in professional development, performance improvement, and continuing education activities.
• Support students and colleagues through knowledge-sharing and a positive learning environment when assigned.
