Travel RN Job Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse license in Illinois, in hand at the time of submission
• At least 1 year of recent Medical-Surgical (Med/Surg) nursing experience
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Ability to successfully complete a dysrhythmia examination; remediation support is available if needed
• Strong patient assessment, prioritization, communication, and clinical documentation skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced inpatient nursing environment

Medical-Surgical RN Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult medical-surgical patients during overnight shifts
• Complete patient assessments, develop and update individualized care plans, and evaluate patient outcomes
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately according to orders and clinical standards
• Monitor patients for changes in condition, recognize dysrhythmias or other clinical concerns, and promptly escalate issues
• Collaborate with providers, nursing colleagues, ancillary departments, patients, and families to coordinate care
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatments, medications, and discharge planning
• Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation and support safe transitions of care
