Med/Surg Tele RN Job Requirements

• At least 1 year of recent permanent medical-surgical telemetry nursing experience
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio or an active compact-state license held in hand at the time of application
• Active BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association
• Active NIHSS certification
• Strong telemetry monitoring and ECG rhythm-recognition skills
• Recent professional reference from a manager, assistant nurse manager, supervisor, or director in the specialty
• Ability to complete required orientation assessments, facility education, background screening, and compliance requirements before or during the assignment

Medical-Surgical Telemetry RN Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult medical-surgical telemetry patients during overnight shifts
• Perform focused and head-to-toe assessments, identify changes in condition, and promptly escalate concerns
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and respond appropriately to dysrhythmias and other clinical changes
• Administer medications and treatments safely in accordance with orders and nursing standards
• Collaborate with physicians, ancillary services, patients, and families to support individualized plans of care
• Document assessments, interventions, outcomes, and patient responses accurately
• Provide patient and family education related to diagnoses, treatments, medications, and discharge planning
• Promote a safe, respectful, and team-oriented patient care environment
