Medical Laboratory Technician Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,380–$1,480
• Schedule: Approximately 36 hours per week; weekend schedule with Friday and Saturday night shifts from 5:00 PM to 5:00 AM and a Sunday shift beginning at approximately 2:30 PM
• Shift Duration: 12-hour night shifts
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: October 12, 2026
• Work Environment: On-site

MLT Travel Job Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of recent experience as a Medical Laboratory Technician in a hospital or comparable clinical laboratory setting
• Medical Laboratory Technician certification through ASCP or AMT
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate, timely laboratory results
• Ability to work independently and effectively during overnight and weekend shifts
• Epic laboratory experience preferred

Medical Laboratory Technician Responsibilities

• Collect, receive, identify, prepare, and process patient specimens in accordance with laboratory standards
• Perform routine and specialized clinical laboratory testing within established procedures and competency guidelines
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment as needed
• Complete laboratory quality control procedures and document results accurately
• Review and report laboratory findings promptly while escalating critical or abnormal results according to protocol
• Maintain accurate laboratory records and follow safety, infection prevention, and regulatory requirements
• Collaborate with nursing, providers, and other members of the healthcare team to support timely patient diagnosis and treatment
