Travel Nursing Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,260–$2,380
• Schedule: 3 shifts per week; 36 hours per week
• Shift: 12-hour nights, approximately 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.
• Patient Ratios: Approximately 1:4
• Healthcare Setting: 44-bed acute care emergency department with approximately 200 daily visits
• Charting: Epic
• Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend, with additional weekend coverage possible based on unit needs
• Holiday Coverage: Availability to work 3 of 5 designated holidays is required
• Call: Not required
• Float: May be required between nearby affiliated facilities

Emergency Room Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• At least 1 year of recent emergency department registered nursing experience
• Active RN license eligible for practice in California; applicable compact license must be in hand when required
• Current ACLS, BLS/BCLS, NIH/NIHSS, and PALS certifications
• Epic charting experience required
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Ability to care for patients across the lifespan, including neonatal, pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations
• Strong emergency nursing skills, including patient assessment, triage, prioritization, and emergency response
• Two professional references covering at least one year of nursing experience within the last three years
• Any requested time off or scheduling needs must be submitted with the application

Emergency Department RN Responsibilities

• Provide safe, timely, and compassionate emergency nursing care for a high-acuity and diverse patient population
• Perform rapid assessments, triage patients, identify changes in condition, and prioritize care according to acuity
• Manage patients with medical, surgical, neurological, orthopedic, traumatic, and behavioral health presentations
• Support stroke- and STEMI-receiving workflows and collaborate with interdisciplinary response teams
• Administer medications, blood products, IV therapies, and procedural sedation in accordance with department standards
• Care for patients requiring ventilatory support, BiPAP/CPAP, continuous sedation, vasopressors, central line management, and cardiac monitoring
• Recognize and respond to dysrhythmias, trauma, head injury, spinal injury, and other emergent conditions
• Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in Epic
• Coordinate care with providers, respiratory therapy, radiology, pharmacy, social services, and other members of the interdisciplinary team
• Maintain current emergency preparedness, infection prevention, and patient safety practices
