Travel RN Job Details

• Job Title: Travel Med/Surg Registered Nurse (RN)
• Assignment Type: 13-week travel nursing assignment
• Location: Fort Myers, Florida
• Start Date: December 4, 2026
• End Date: March 6, 2027
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,830–$1,920
• Schedule: Three 12-hour night shifts per week
• Hours: 36 hours per week
• Unit: Medical-Surgical/Telemetry with Progressive Care support
• Patient Ratio: Approximately 5–6 patients per RN
• Charting System: Epic electronic medical record (EMR)
• Work Setting: On-site; floating is required, including to other Medical-Surgical units, Progressive Care, and Emergency Department holding areas

Med/Surg RN Job Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of combined Progressive Care and Medical-Surgical/Telemetry nursing experience
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Florida
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Current NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Strong telemetry monitoring, patient assessment, prioritization, and care coordination skills
• Ability and willingness to float to designated units and nearby campuses as needed
• Prior travel nursing experience is highly preferred

Travel Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide safe, comprehensive nursing care to Medical-Surgical, telemetry, and Progressive Care patients
• Complete focused and head-to-toe assessments, identify changes in condition, and escalate concerns promptly
• Monitor telemetry and respond appropriately to clinical changes
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with orders and established standards
• Coordinate care with providers, nurses, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team
• Accurately document patient care and clinical updates in Epic
• Support safe admissions, transfers, discharges, and patient education
• Adapt effectively to floating assignments while maintaining high standards of patient-centered care
