Travel Progressive Care Unit Registered Nurse (Neuro PCU) – Fort Myers, Florida

Join a collaborative neuro progressive care team as a Travel Registered Nurse (RN) on a 13-week nursing contract in Fort Myers, Florida. This on-site travel nursing opportunity is based in a 52-bed Neuro Progressive Care Unit (PCU) and stepdown setting with a typical nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4, with ratios potentially reaching 1:5. Travel RN Job Details

• Location: Fort Myers, Florida
• Unit: Neuro Progressive Care Unit (PCU) and stepdown
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,830–$1,920
• Start Date: December 4, 2026
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 36 guaranteed hours per week
• Shift: 12-hour nights
• Patient Assignment: Typically 1:4, with assignments potentially reaching 1:5
• Work Setting: On-site; floating is required

Neuro PCU Registered Nurse Requirements

• At least 2 years of registered nursing experience
• Recent neuro nursing experience in a progressive care, stepdown, or comparable acute-care setting
• Active Registered Nurse license eligible for practice in Florida
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Current NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Demonstrated experience managing Cardene and Cleviprex infusions
• Ability to interpret EKG rhythms
• Accredited nursing degree documentation required; candidates without degree accreditation must demonstrate 5 years of relevant nursing experience
• Willingness to float to both neuro PCU areas and other appropriate units or nearby campuses as needed
• Ability to provide complete credentialing documentation by the required deadline

Progressive Care Nursing Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients requiring progressive care and neurological monitoring.
• Assess neurological status, recognize changes in condition, and promptly escalate concerns.
• Safely administer and monitor Cardene, Cleviprex, and other prescribed therapies.
• Interpret EKG rhythms and respond appropriately to cardiac changes.
• Manage patient assignments within established PCU ratios while prioritizing safety and quality outcomes.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, patients, and families to support individualized care plans.
• Float as required and maintain consistent clinical standards across assigned units.
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the medical record.
