OB/GYN Physician Job Requirements

• Physician credentials appropriate for Obstetrics and Gynecology practice
• At least 1 year of relevant Obstetrics and Gynecology clinical experience
• Board certification eligibility; board certification is preferred or required according to credentialing standards
• Fellowship training as required for the position
• Current BLS certification
• Demonstrated competency in low- and high-risk pregnancy management
• Strong fetal heart rate interpretation skills, including NST, CST, and FSE monitoring

OB/GYN Physician Responsibilities

• Evaluate and manage patients with low- and high-risk pregnancies
• Provide care for routine vaginal deliveries and low-forceps deliveries
• Perform clinical decision-making for cesarean sections
• Manage complicated deliveries, including cesarean deliveries, breech presentations, multiple births, abruptions, and VBACs
• Interpret fetal heart rate monitoring, including NST, CST, and FSE tracings
• Assess patients and develop individualized treatment plans in a busy obstetric setting
• Repair third- and fourth-degree lacerations when qualified; this skill is preferred
• Collaborate with nurses, advanced practice providers, and other members of the care team to support safe maternal and fetal outcomes
