Travel MRI Technologist Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,150–$2,310
• Location: Huntington, West Virginia 25701
• Assignment Type: 13-week travel contract
• Start Date: November 16, 2026
• End Date: February 15, 2027
• Schedule: Four shifts per week, Tuesday through Friday
• Shift: 10-hour day shifts, scheduled 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
• Hours: Approximately 40 hours per week
• Call: No call requirement
• Orientation: 16 hours
• Additional Scheduling Note: The department is closed on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day.

MRI Technologist Job Requirements

• At least 1 year of MRI technologist or Magnetic Resonance Imaging experience
• ARRT certification in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR)
• Demonstrated Siemens MRI experience required; experience with XA software strongly preferred
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with radiology and clinical team members
• Strong knowledge of MRI safety practices, patient positioning, image quality, and departmental protocols
• Willingness to complete required laboratory work within 72 hours of contract signing
• Completion of facility orientation and specialty learning modules as required
• Travel assignment eligibility; candidates residing within 50 miles of the work location are not eligible

Travel MRI Technologist Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic MRI examinations according to established protocols and provider orders
• Operate Siemens MRI equipment, including systems using XA software
• Screen patients for contraindications, implants, allergies, and other MRI safety concerns
• Prepare, position, and monitor patients throughout examinations while providing clear instructions and compassionate patient care
• Obtain high-quality diagnostic images and make appropriate adjustments to imaging parameters when needed
• Recognize and respond appropriately to patient concerns, emergencies, and safety events
• Maintain accurate documentation and follow applicable imaging safety, MRI, infection prevention, and patient privacy standards
• Help maintain a safe, organized, and efficient hospital MRI department
