• Schedule: Five 8-hour shifts per week with rotating start times
• Shift Options: 5:00 a.m.–1:30 p.m. or 10:30 a.m.–7:00 p.m.; rotating weekends may be included

Food Service Worker and Hospital Cook Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• At least 6 months of related food service, institutional food service, or cooking experience
• Food and nutrition services knowledge or certification preferred
• Ability to follow food preparation, sanitation, safety, temperature control, and dietary guidelines
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced hospital or healthcare environment
• Availability to work assigned rotating shifts and weekends
• Strong teamwork, organization, communication, and customer service skills

Hospital Dietary and Food Service Responsibilities

• Prepare, portion, and present meals and food items according to established recipes and patient dietary requirements
• Follow food safety, sanitation, temperature control, and infection-prevention procedures
• Assist with patient meal service and ensure trays and food items are accurate and properly presented
• Maintain clean, organized, and sanitary work areas, kitchen equipment, and storage spaces
• Stock ingredients and supplies while monitoring food quality and availability
• Work collaboratively with dietary, nutrition services, and hospital support teams to provide dependable food service
• Perform other food service, kitchen, and dietary department duties as assigned
