Travel RN Job Details

• Position: Travel Registered Nurse – Medical/Surgical Telemetry
• Location: Des Moines, Iowa
• Healthcare Setting: Med/Surg Telemetry unit
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: November 29, 2026
• End Date: February 27, 2027
• Nursing Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM–7:30 AM
• Hours: 36 hours per week
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,750–$1,840
• Weekend and Holiday Coverage: Every other weekend and every other holiday may be required

Medical-Surgical Telemetry RN Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse license eligible for practice in Iowa
• At least 1 year of recent medical-surgical or telemetry nursing experience
• Strong patient assessment, prioritization, and clinical decision-making skills
• Ability to interpret telemetry and recognize changes in patient condition
• Ability to work 12-hour overnight shifts and meet the scheduled weekly hours
• Successful completion of required competency, license, background, and onboarding verification
• Strong communication skills and a commitment to safe, compassionate patient care

Travel Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult medical-surgical and telemetry patients
• Assess patients, develop individualized care plans, and evaluate responses to treatment
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and vital signs, identifying and escalating clinically significant changes
• Administer medications and treatments safely in accordance with orders and professional standards
• Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary care team to coordinate patient care
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, medications, and discharge needs
• Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and in a timely manner
• Support a safe, respectful, and efficient unit environment during overnight shifts
