OB/GYN Physician Requirements

• Physician with at least 1 year of clinical experience in obstetrics and gynecology
• Board certification or board certification eligibility required
• Current physician licensure eligible for practice in Tennessee
• Current BLS and PALS certifications
• Demonstrated competence in routine and complicated obstetric care
• Ability to provide care for low-risk and high-risk pregnancies
• Credentialing may require approximately 45 days

Obstetrics and Gynecology Physician Responsibilities

• Provide evaluation and treatment for obstetric and gynecologic patients
• Manage low-risk and high-risk pregnancies
• Perform routine vaginal deliveries and manage complicated deliveries
• Perform and manage cesarean deliveries and provide care for breech and multiple births
• Interpret fetal heart rate monitoring, including NST, CST, and FSE when needed
• Support clinical decision-making for cesarean delivery
• Perform or assist with appropriate office, minor, and surgical gynecologic procedures based on clinical need and qualifications
• Collaborate with the care team to promote safe, high-quality outcomes for mothers and newborns
