• Coverage: Approximately 2–3 weeks per month, depending on the call schedule
• Schedule: Clinic hours Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.; 24-hour hospital call when scheduled, with minimal nighttime call activity
• Shift Duration: 10-hour days
• Patient Volume: Approximately 22–24 patients per day
• Patient Population: Adults, age 18 and older
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $105,000–$112,500
• Support Team: Registered nurses and technicians

Cardiologist Job Requirements

• Physician with completed residency and fellowship training in Cardiology
• At least 2 years of cardiology experience; 1 year of relevant experience is the minimum consideration threshold
• Active West Virginia medical license or eligibility through the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC)
• Current Controlled Substance Registration (CSR) and Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registration
• Clean professional background
• Proficiency with electrocardiograms (EKGs) and EKG interpretation
• Experience performing or interpreting transesophageal echocardiograms (TEEs)
• Experience with nuclear stress testing
• Ability to provide outpatient cardiology care and participate in hospital call coverage

Locum Tenens Cardiology Responsibilities

• Evaluate and manage new and established adult cardiology patients
• Conduct cardiac risk assessments and develop appropriate treatment plans
• Perform and interpret EKGs
• Place and evaluate Holter monitors
• Perform pacemaker checks and supervise EKG testing
• Perform or interpret treadmill and nuclear stress tests
• Perform transesophageal echocardiograms and cardioversions as clinically indicated
• Provide inpatient cardiology consultation and hospital call coverage
• Complete timely, accurate clinical documentation and coordinate care with registered nurses, technicians, and other healthcare professionals
