Nuclear Medicine Technologist Job Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist
• Current Nuclear Medicine Technologist certification or credentials appropriate for practice in California
• Demonstrated proficiency with general nuclear medicine procedures and diagnostic imaging services
• Ability to work on-site and support multiple locations within the designated service area
• Strong patient-care, communication, organization, and radiation-safety skills

Nuclear Medicine Technologist Responsibilities

• Perform general nuclear medicine examinations in accordance with established clinical and radiation-safety protocols
• Conduct nuclear medicine stress tests and assist with appropriate patient preparation and monitoring
• Perform thyroid, ventilation-perfusion (VQ), and bone scans
• Complete gastric emptying studies and Indium white blood cell scans
• Prepare patients, administer radiopharmaceuticals within scope of practice, acquire quality diagnostic images, and document procedures accurately
• Maintain radiation-safety practices and provide clear instructions and compassionate patient care throughout each examination
• Collaborate with the care team to support efficient workflow and high-quality nuclear medicine and diagnostic imaging services
