Quality Control Inspector Job Summary We're hiring an experienced Quality Control Inspector in North Salt Lake, UT, paying $19.00–$23.00 per hour based on experience. If you hold an active IPC/WHMA-A-620 Certified Specialist credential and have hands-on experience inspecting wire harness and cable assemblies, this is a role where your expertise directly impacts product integrity in a high-reliability manufacturing environment. What You'll Do
- Perform in-process, final, and receiving inspections on wire and cable assemblies, harnesses, and subassemblies.
- Inspect for workmanship, crimp quality, solder joints, continuity, torque, routing, labeling, and mechanical integrity using drawings, travelers, and specifications.
- Conduct First Article Inspections (FAI) and validate new builds or engineering changes.
- Complete inspection reports, Non-Conformance Records (NCRs), and First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) accurately and on time.
- Operate inspection tools including micrometers, calipers, pin gages, magnifiers, continuity testers, multimeters, pull test devices, and inspection microscopes.
- Communicate findings clearly to production, engineering, and QA teams — and provide hands-on guidance to assemblers on defect prevention.
- Support root cause analysis, corrective action efforts, internal audits, and customer source inspections.
- 3–5+ years of quality inspection experience in cable and wire harness manufacturing.
- Active IPC/WHMA-A-620 Certified Specialist (CS) certification — this is a firm requirement.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, BOMs, and assembly drawings.
- Proficiency with standard cable inspection tools and test equipment.
- J-STD-001 Certification for soldered assembly inspection.
- Experience with AS9100 or ISO 9001 quality management systems.
- Background supporting aerospace, military, or medical device harness builds.
- Familiarity with ERP systems, electronic travelers, or digital work instructions.
