Job Details

• Position: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
• Specialty Focus: Pediatric Respiratory Therapy, NICU, PICU
• Employment Type: Travel Healthcare Job
• Shift: 12-hour day shifts
• Scheduled Hours: 36 hours per week with the option to work 48 hours per week
• Contract Length: 26 weeks
• Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend required
• Holiday Commitment: Must work 2 of the 3 winter holidays
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,810 - $1,940

Job Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of respiratory therapy experience required; pediatric, NICU, or PICU experience strongly preferred
• Level IV NICU experience required
• Cardiac PICU experience preferred
• Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification required
• Current BLS and NRP certifications required
• PALS preferred
• ACCS preferred
• Virginia state license required; pending license accepted if eligible for a temporary license before start
• Must hold an active license in another state to qualify for temporary licensure
• Must be comfortable with self-scheduling and working collaboratively in a multidisciplinary healthcare team
• Experience with Epic preferred
• Ability to successfully complete required onboarding and compliance steps

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced respiratory care for neonates, infants, children, and adolescents across a high-acuity children’s hospital
• Support NICU, PICU, high-risk delivery, emergency, and acute pediatric respiratory therapy needs
• Assist with intubations, extubations, airway management, suctioning, ABG interpretation, and ventilator support
• Operate and remain proficient with advanced equipment including the Bunnell Jet Ventilator and HFOV 3100A
• Deliver care using a variety of respiratory therapies and modalities such as HFNC, CPAP/BiPAP, tracheostomy care, and aerosol treatments
• Work closely with physicians, nurses, and respiratory services team members to support safe, high-quality patient care
• Float within scope of practice to other units as needed
• Maintain strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills in a high-acuity pediatric setting
